After having learned the French, Anglo-saxon and Chinese needlepainting techniques, I have founded the Atelier in 2020 in order to transmit this embroidery art to other passionnates.

Any person, even without any experience in hand embroidery, may start and perfect this embroidery technique.

Models are proposed to students according to their level in order to learn, on a step by step basis, all the various challenges of needlepainting. Students are also encouraged to pick their own models, according to their own taste and rythm so as to develop their skills in a pleasant manner.

Needlepainting or silk shading is an embroidery technique consisting in the representation of objects, plants, animals or others, realistically or not. This embroidery technique uses drawing and painting rules – with a needle instead of the a paintbrush and threads instead of pigments. 

Needlepainting is based on the long and short stitch technique, the only one which can effectively merge nuances in order to express light, curved forms or movement.
